Crisp Bros and Haywards provided construction and steel fabrication for major sporting stadiums including the famed Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Launceston’s Aurora Stadium, Hobart’s Bellerive Oval and Melbourne’s AAMI Park.

Aurora Stadium
Over several stages spanning 2004 through 2011, Crisp Bros and Haywards undertook the supply and driving of foundation piles, together with detailing, fabrication, surface treatment and erection of over 300 tonnes of grandstand roof steelwork .

MCG
Haywards also supplied some 400 tonnes of structural steel and steel seating beams for the construction of the new Northern Stand at the MCG. This 400T project was completed in 2006.

Bellerive Oval
Haywards were contracted for the design, supply, fabrication and surface treatment of 4 no. 45m high light tower poles, including headframes, for Bellerive Cricket Oval. Poles were fabricated in 2 section and heads frames in 4 to allow the transportation size restrictions. This 140T project was completed in 2009.

AAMI Park
Haywards were contracted for the fabrication and surface treatment of 134 frames to make up 8 No. roof shells. Design requirements called for sections fabricated were up to 7.9m wide x 20.0m long x 4.8m wide. The frames were shipped to Melbourne in 85 trailer loads. Tight construction tolerances called for required each section to be fabricated to X,Y,Z co-ordinates and survey checked throughout the process. This 640T project was completed in 2009.
